Its 70W output is a real asset: on a MacBook or a USB-C ultraportable, it charges at good speed, which conventional banks cannot do. Its 4 ports let you power several devices at once, and its 20000mAh capacity lasts several days on the move. Technically, it has nothing to envy the market benchmarks. The real problem is the brand: RAVPower was banned from Amazon in 2021 for fraudulent review practices, and is no longer really distributed in Europe. It is therefore hard to recommend today against alternatives like the Anker 737 or the INIU 65W, easier to buy and to get warranty support for.

The Voltcraft VC-GP40 is a giant power bank sitting on the edge of the power station category: 144000 mAh (about 460 Wh) of LiFePO4 cells, known for their long life and thermal stability. It delivers up to 300 W through its Anderson output, 100 W over USB-C, and packs two 12 V cigarette-lighter sockets, two USB-A ports and an LED light. Enough to run a laptop, a fan or a small fridge while camping, in a van or during a power outage. It recharges from the mains or a 100 W solar panel.
The Voltcraft VC-GP40 plays in a category of its own: not quite a power bank, not quite a power station. In use, what strikes you first is its huge reserve, 144000 mAh of LiFePO4 that last several days while camping. We used it to charge a laptop at full speed over the 100 W USB-C port, run a small fan from the 12 V socket and keep two smartphones topped up all weekend without it flinching. The 300 W Anderson output opens the door to more demanding devices, provided you have the right cable. The LiFePO4 chemistry is reassuring on lifespan and safety, and the built-in LED light genuinely comes in handy at night. The two real downsides are the weight, close to 4.6 kg, which makes it better suited to a van, a fixed campsite or home backup than a backpack, and the lack of a 230 V mains socket: everything runs through USB, 12 V or Anderson. But for anyone after a big, rugged energy reserve without paying the price of a full power station, it is a clever proposition.
