Detailed overview: RAVPower PD Pioneer 20000mAh 70W power bank

The RAVPower PD Pioneer 20000mAh is a high-capacity power bank that made a name for itself with its high power. It delivers up to 70W two-way fast charging, placing it among the rare power banks able to charge a laptop at full speed, on top of smartphones and tablets.

It has 4 ports (2 USB-C and 2 USB-A), enough to charge several devices at once, with smart power distribution. Its 20000mAh (74Wh) capacity offers a real energy reserve for several days on the move, and its fast input lets the bank itself recharge in a reasonable time.

On paper, it is an excellent all-round power bank. But one major point must be flagged: the RAVPower brand was banned from the Amazon platform in 2021, as part of a purge targeting several brands of its parent company for fraudulent customer-review practices. Since then, RAVPower has almost disappeared from European distribution channels, and its products are no longer listed on French marketplaces.

In practice, this means it is now very hard to buy a RAVPower PD Pioneer in Europe, and above all to get reliable after-sales support. For an equivalent need (large capacity, high power to charge a laptop), current and easy-to-find alternatives like the Anker 737 (24000mAh, 140W) or the INIU 20000mAh 65W are preferable, offering far better warranty and availability.

Technically, the RAVPower PD Pioneer remains a good powerful bank, but it is now penalised by its near-disappearance from distribution. At comparable specs, the Anker 737 and the INIU 65W are far easier to buy and to get warranty support for, making them noticeably more rational choices.

The RAVPower PD Pioneer 20000mAh belongs to the generation of genuinely powerful power banks, able to charge a laptop and not just a phone. Its 70W output is a real asset: on a MacBook or a USB-C ultraportable, it charges at good speed, which conventional banks cannot do. Its 4 ports let you power several devices at once, and its 20000mAh capacity lasts several days on the move. Technically, it has nothing to envy the market benchmarks. The real problem is the brand: RAVPower was banned from Amazon in 2021 for fraudulent review practices, and is no longer really distributed in Europe. It is therefore hard to recommend today against alternatives like the Anker 737 or the INIU 65W, easier to buy and to get warranty support for.
