Detailed overview: Belkin 20000mAh power bank for Switch 2

The Belkin Gaming Power Bank 20K is a 20,000mAh external battery designed first and foremost for the Nintendo Switch 2, which Belkin lists as officially supported and certified. Its main feature is a 12cm built-in USB-C cable, permanently attached to the shell: no more digging through a bag for the right cable, just unfold the connector and plug into the console, a phone or a tablet.

With a 30W output shared across its three connectors (the built-in USB-C cable, plus an extra USB-C port and a USB-A port), it can charge up to three devices at the same time. Its 20,000mAh (74Wh) capacity delivers up to 3 full recharges of the Nintendo Switch 2 according to Belkin, enough for a long train or plane journey without ever running short of power. USB-C Power Delivery also allows fast charging of a compatible phone: Belkin states 0 to 50% in around 25 minutes on an iPhone 16 Pro.

The shell, made with a coating of 75% post-consumer recycled plastic and sold in plastic-free packaging, measures 154 x 76.2 x 25.1mm and weighs about 399g. Four LED indicators show the remaining charge in 25% steps. The product has been through Belkin's 177-point SmartProtect safety testing programme and comes with a 2-year warranty, backed by connected equipment cover of up to £1,500.

Beyond the Nintendo Switch 2, compatibility is broad: iPhone 13 to 16 (all models, a separate USB-C to Lightning cable needed for iPhone 13 and 14), Samsung Galaxy S22 to S25, recent iPad Pro, Air and mini models, smartwatches and select laptops via USB-C. A few honest downsides: without a digital percentage display, only four rough LED indicators show the charge level, and the shell, bulky enough to hold that capacity, is noticeable in a jacket pocket. Still, for a mobile gamer with a Switch 2 or anyone after a dependable all-round charger with a cable that's always to hand, the Belkin Gaming Power Bank 20K ticks the essential boxes, backed by the brand's quality assurance.

Comparison

Up against the competition among 20,000mAh power banks with a built-in cable, the Belkin Gaming Power Bank 20K regularly comes up in searches like "Belkin Gaming Power Bank vs Anker" or "best power bank for Nintendo Switch 2". Here's how it stacks up against three closely compared rivals: the Anker Power Bank 20K 87W, the fastest on output power; the INIU 45W 20000mAh, a hugely popular alternative with a digital display; and the Baseus EnerFill FC11, the only one with two built-in USB-C cables.

On paper, the Anker Power Bank 20K delivers nearly three times the power (87W, enough to charge a laptop), and the Baseus EnerFill FC11 stands out with its two built-in USB-C cables. But the Belkin Gaming Power Bank 20K remains the only one in this line-up officially optimised and certified for the Nintendo Switch 2, in a proven design backed by Belkin's quality assurance, at a price close to its most affordable rivals.

Packed for a weekend trip with a Nintendo Switch 2, this Belkin Gaming Power Bank 20K proved its worth straight away: the USB-C cable is permanently attached to the shell, so there's no way to forget it at the bottom of a bag. Plugged into the console during a long train journey, it delivered close to three full recharges before running dry, matching Belkin's claims. The extra USB-A port also came in handy for topping up a Pro Controller and a phone at the same time, useful when travelling with others. On an iPhone, the 30W fast charging lives up to expectations, with half a charge back in around half an hour. Two honest downsides: without a digital screen, only four rough LED indicators show the remaining level, and the case, wide and thick enough to hold that capacity, is noticeable in a jacket pocket. For nomadic gaming or a reliable all-round charger from Belkin, it remains a very good choice.
