The SolarFlow 2400 AC marks a change of nature in Zendure's range, and that is worth understanding before buying. The SolarFlow 800 and its derivatives are microinverters: you plug solar panels into them. This one has no photovoltaic input, it is AC-coupled. It sits between your installation and the home, and stores electricity indifferently from your existing panels or from the grid when it is cheap. That is home-battery logic, not balcony-kit logic, and it opens a use case microinverters do not cover: pure tariff arbitrage, profitable without a single panel. The figures follow that ambition. The 2400 watt rating in both directions absorbs a production peak or covers a household's real evening consumption, where the regulatory 800 watts of a balcony kit only erase the standby baseline. Zendure ships the unit set to 800 watts of output by default and allows it to be raised to 2400 watts once an electrician has given it a dedicated circuit, which is a step worth budgeting for rather than discovering afterwards. The 2880 watt-hours of the supplied AB3000X battery represent a full evening for an average household, and stacking to 17.28 kWh puts the system on a par with conventional residential storage. The quoted 6000 cycles on LiFePO4 cells sit within today's serious standards, and the off-grid socket is more generous than the category norm at 2400 watts continuous with a 3600 watt peak. The point that has changed since launch, and the one that should be settled first, is that this unit is no longer the current generation. Zendure has released the SolarFlow 2400 AC+ and the SolarFlow 2400 Pro, both built around a new battery module, the AB3000L, and the brand states that the AB3000L is compatible with those two hubs only and not with the AB3000X or the SolarFlow 2400 AC. Nothing carries across. A 2400 AC already on the wall can only ever be extended with AB3000X modules, which Zendure still sells; a system started today with a 2400 AC is locked to that module for its whole life. That is not a reason to rule it out, since the older platform is discounted and its power rating is higher per module, but it is a decision to take deliberately rather than by accident. Two further points deserve attention before ordering. A compatible smart metre is required for the unit to read household consumption and decide when to charge or discharge, so it is part of the real cost. And the IP65 rating lapses as soon as the off-grid socket is in use or the cover is not properly closed, which Zendure states honestly. The buyer this suits is one who has already worked out the gap between off-peak and peak prices: that is where the payback lies, more than in solar self-consumption.

The AB3000X has to be read differently now that Zendure has moved its range on. It is the storage module of the SolarFlow 2400 AC generation, and of that generation alone. The newer SolarFlow 2400 AC+ and SolarFlow 2400 Pro are built around a different module, the AB3000L, which Zendure describes on its own product pages as compatible with those two hubs only and not compatible with the AB3000X or the SolarFlow 2400 AC. The statement runs both ways: an AB3000X will not extend an AC+, and an AB3000L will not extend a 2400 AC. Nothing in the model names makes that obvious, which is precisely why it belongs at the top of the page rather than in a footnote. What makes the split awkward is how close the two modules are on paper. Both hold 2880 Wh, that is 60 Ah at 48 volts of lithium iron phosphate, both are rated for 6000 cycles, both are IP65 and both carry an aerosol fire extinguishing system. The divide is architectural and commercial, not electrical. The one real difference favours the older module: the AB3000X is rated 2880 W on its own and 3840 W from two modules, against 1680 W and 1920 W for the AB3000L. Judged on its own terms the AB3000X is a serious block. Six modules bring the system to 17.28 kWh, the 48 volt architecture keeps conversion losses lower than the low-voltage packs of the previous range, and the self-heating function keeps the module working between -20 °C and 0 °C, which matters for an enclosure that stays outdoors all year. At 26.1 kg it is not something to move about, so its position should be settled before the first bolt goes in, and the 10-year warranty sits at the top of what this category offers. So the advice splits cleanly. If a SolarFlow 2400 AC is already installed, the AB3000X is the only module that will extend it, and Zendure still sells it for exactly that reason. If nothing is installed yet, the choice is between a discounted platform that has stopped evolving and the current one, and it has to be made before the first battery is ordered, because the batteries do not carry across.

The AB1000 is the gateway to storage in the SolarFlow ecosystem: at 960 Wh and 11.5 kg, it is the lightest and most affordable of Zendure's extension batteries, ideal for a first step or a small balcony. It carries the essentials: an IP65 enclosure for the outdoors, self-heating that keeps it charging down to -20 °C, and the range's stacking logic (up to four units, or 3.84 kWh, and compatible with the other AB batteries to size your capacity). The 10-year warranty covers the whole thing. Two things to keep in mind: its capacity stays modest, so for genuine evening autonomy you are better off with the AB2000L or stacking several modules; and, unlike the newer versions, it does not have the aerosol fire suppression system reserved for the higher-end models. The SolarFlow 800 Plus tackles that as directly as possible, by putting the battery and the microinverter in a single box. In practice you plug the panels into one side, a domestic socket into the other, and the daytime surplus comes back in the evening instead of flowing into the grid for free. Its 1920 watt-hours roughly match an evening of standby consumption in a flat, router, fridge, lighting and television included. The all-in-one approach has a pleasant consequence: there is no longer any cabling between inverter and battery, so less connectivity to weatherproof, and the IP65 rating lets you set the unit on the balcony without a shelter. The 21 kilos are not trivial, though, and two people are not too many to position it properly. Two things genuinely set it apart from the competition. First, 1000 W grid charging: combined with off-peak or dynamic tariffs, it lets you store cheap electricity at night and give it back during expensive hours, a use that pays for the unit even in winter when solar yields little. Setting up the SolarFlow 800 really is fuss-free: you connect the panels, plug the inverter into a socket, and the Zendure app handles the rest in a few minutes. What changes everything versus a plain microinverter is the hybrid side: as soon as you add a Zendure battery, midday energy is no longer wasted but stored for the evening. In our tests, the switching between solar, battery and grid is impressively quick, and the watt-level adjustment genuinely avoids giving power away to the grid. The claimed 96% efficiency shows in the energy you actually use. We also like the modular logic: you can start small with just the inverter, then grow over time. Two honest caveats: without a battery you are back to a plain microinverter and much of the appeal disappears; and the fine-tuning (off-peak hours, priorities) takes a little time to master. What stands out in use is the flexibility: four independent solar inputs let you aim panels in different directions without loss, and the 1200 W bidirectional output handles both feed-in and charging the battery from the grid during off-peak hours. Bifacial changes the game when you have a bright surface behind the panels (light ground, white railing, gravel, snow): by also catching the light reflected onto the rear face, these Zendure modules recover extra output that ordinary panels leave on the table. On paper two 500W modules, but up to 1300 Wp combined in good reflection conditions: the gain is real at midday and in clear weather. The dual-glass build inspires confidence over time, and the wind (2400 Pa) and snow (5400 Pa) resistance certifications confirm they are built to stay outdoors all year. The 22.5% efficiency and the good low-light behaviour (morning, overcast sky) are there. Two caveats: these are rigid, heavy panels, so they need solid mounting and a suitable frame, ideally slightly raised to let light reach the rear face; and without a reflective surface behind, the bifacial bonus stays modest. Two limits to understand before buying: unlike the Hyper 2000, the Hub 2000 has no built-in inverter, so you need to add a compatible microinverter; and it handles only two MPPT inputs, where the Hyper offers four. These flexible panels solve a real balcony-solar problem: mounting on a rounded railing or a surface that is not perfectly flat. With a claimed flexibility of up to 220°, they fit where a rigid panel would refuse to sit, and their featherweight (4.3 kg per panel) lets you handle and fix them on your own, with no heavy drilling. The AiO 2400 takes the opposite approach to modular SolarFlow systems: instead of stacking a hub and batteries, everything sits in a single metal case, slim and genuinely elegant, one of the best-looking in the category. In use, its simplicity is what wins you over: you connect the panels to its two MPPT inputs, link a microinverter (often the bundled EZ1-M), and the built-in 2400 Wh battery does the rest, storing daytime energy to release it in the evening. The self-heating that keeps it charging down to -20 °C and the IP65 rating make it a true outdoor product, usable year-round. The LiFePO4 cells last up to 4000 cycles at 80% (8000 at 70%), a sign of longevity, and the 10-year warranty reassures. Two caveats: its capacity is fixed (2400 Wh), so you need to size it right at purchase, with no stacking like on an AB system; and you have to add a microinverter for feed-in. But for a clean, good-looking, fuss-free balcony install, the AiO 2400 is one of the best options around.

The SolarFlow 4000 Mix AC+ remains on pre-order more than four months after its launch, and the only customer feedback available so far offers a first glimpse: one buyer describes wiring it directly into a 20A breaker rather than a wall socket, a cleaner installation in his view, and says he has already raised output to 3000 watts without any issue. On paper, the 10-millisecond switchover to the off-grid output and the 7200 W peak leave headroom for appliances with a high startup current draw, such as a heat pump. Two reservations weigh on this early assessment, though: on a pre-production unit, the measured round-trip efficiency comes out at 87 % at full load and 78-82 % in real-world use, clearly below the announced 90 %, a measurement still to be confirmed on a production unit; and the HEMS 2.0 energy management system, which also controls this model, required an emergency software patch released in June 2026. The announced compatibility with major third-party inverter brands (Huawei, SMA, Fronius, Enphase, SolarEdge, Sungrow) has not yet been independently verified brand by brand. The real drawback at this stage remains the lack of hindsight: the launch happened on a very small scale, reviews can still be counted on one hand, and the pre-order shipping window (20 to 30 days) is worth watching before ordering.

The SolarFlow 800 Pro 2 answers a problem balcony owners know well: perfectly south-facing surfaces are rare. With four independent 660 W MPPT trackers, each panel works at its own maximum power point. A module in shade at the end of the day no longer drags the others down, which genuinely changes things on a block facade where panels often end up on two different planes. That is the real technical argument of this version, more so than the 2640 W ceiling, which few balcony installations will ever reach. Grid export stays capped at 800 W, exactly like the rest of the range: the headline 1000 W figure covers off-grid output and charging from the mains, not what reaches the home. The onboard energy manager connects to more than 840 European suppliers and exploits hourly tariffs: it charges when electricity is cheap, discharges when it is expensive, and protects the battery in winter by keeping it above an unfavourable state of charge. On paper, that is what the best domestic systems do, at balcony scale. Two reservations. Price first: the SolarFlow 800 Plus reaches the same 11.52 kWh ceiling for over two hundred pounds less, as long as two solar inputs are enough for you. And since the product is recent, it does not yet have enough reviews to derive a reliable rating, which is why we do not display one.

The Zendure SolarFlow Kit is a plug-in solar and battery bundle designed specifically for the US market, distinct from the SolarFlow 800 range sold in Europe. It bundles two 410W rigid panels, a dual-MPPT Hub 2000 accepting up to 1800W, two AB2000S batteries totalling 3840Wh (expandable to 7680Wh), and an EZ1-LV microinverter up to 900W. Certified UL1741 (not UL3700), it also qualifies for a 30% US federal tax credit, with no UK equivalent. As of this writing, it is listed sold out both at Zendure and on Amazon in the US.
We looked at the SolarFlow Kit as Zendure's answer to a question mostly asked by US homeowners since Europe's balcony solar boom took off: can you really just plug something in and start generating power? The bundle far outstrips the SolarFlow 800 range we sell here on storage: two AB2000S batteries hold 3840Wh, expandable to 7680Wh, while the Hub 2000 accepts up to 1800W across two MPPT trackers. None of this, however, applies to the UK: the kit is certified UL1741, not UL3700, its output voltage is 120V, and it does not appear on any storefront or catalogue aimed at our market. Zendure itself lists the bundle as sold out, both on its US store and on Amazon.com, which further limits the practical relevance of this fiche. For a UK balcony system, the SolarFlow 800 range, including the Pro 2 already reviewed by our team, remains the sensible entry point with Zendure.
