Detailed overview: Zendure AB1000 960 Wh storage battery
The Zendure AB1000 is a 960 Wh lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) storage module, designed as a capacity extension for the brand's SolarFlow balcony solar systems (notably the Hub 2000 and Hyper 2000 hubs). It is the compact, most affordable version of the range: it stores the electricity produced during the day to release it in the evening or at peak hours, instead of feeding it to the grid for free.
On capacity, each AB1000 offers 960 Wh (20 Ah at 48 V nominal) and the system stacks up to four batteries, or 3840 Wh (3.84 kWh). The AB1000 is also compatible with the other AB series batteries, which lets you mix capacities and fine-tune your reserve. At just 11.5 kg, it is the easiest of the extension range to handle and position.
Built to stay outdoors, the AB1000 is IP65 rated against rain and dust, and features a self-heating function that keeps the battery operational down to -20 °C, whereas many batteries refuse to charge below 0 °C. A BMS constantly monitors the temperature, voltage and current of the cells.
Zendure rates the LiFePO4 cells at 3000 cycles, meaning many years of daily use, and covers the module with a 10-year warranty. Unlike the newer models (L or S series), the entry-level AB1000 does not have the aerosol fire suppression system. The AB1000 is controlled through the Zendure app, via the hub it connects to. Note: it is an extension battery for the SolarFlow ecosystem, not a universal block to plug into any inverter.

Our tester's review: Julien De Jurquet
The AB1000 is the gateway to storage in the SolarFlow ecosystem: at 960 Wh and 11.5 kg, it is the lightest and most affordable of Zendure's extension batteries, ideal for a first step or a small balcony. It carries the essentials: an IP65 enclosure for the outdoors, self-heating that keeps it charging down to -20 °C, and the range's stacking logic (up to four units, or 3.84 kWh, and compatible with the other AB batteries to size your capacity). The 10-year warranty covers the whole thing. Two things to keep in mind: its capacity stays modest, so for genuine evening autonomy you are better off with the AB2000L or stacking several modules; and, unlike the newer versions, it does not have the aerosol fire suppression system reserved for the higher-end models. But to start out without investing too much and discover balcony storage, the AB1000 remains an excellent entry point.
Frequently asked questions: Zendure AB1000 960 Wh storage battery
Capacity and size: the AB1000 offers 960 Wh at 11.5 kg, versus 1920 Wh for the AB2000L. The AB2000L also adds aerosol fire suppression and better endurance (6000 cycles versus 3000). Both are stackable with each other.
No. It is an extension module for Zendure's SolarFlow ecosystem: it connects to a hub (Hub 2000, Hyper 2000) that manages charging, discharging and feed-in. It is not a universal battery to plug into any inverter.
Up to 3.84 kWh by stacking four AB1000 modules of 960 Wh each. The AB1000 is also compatible with the other AB batteries, which lets you go higher by mixing modules.
Yes. The AB1000 includes self-heating that keeps the battery operational down to -20 °C, and its enclosure is IP65 rated against rain and dust. It is suitable for a year-round outdoor installation.
