We took the Xtorm Fuel Series 5 67W on several multi-day trips, far from a wall socket, and that is exactly where it shines. With 45,000mAh, it kept a phone topped up for a full week without breaking a sweat, and still had enough left to bail out a laptop along the way. The LED display is genuinely useful: you see the exact percentage left at a glance, instead of guessing from blinking LEDs like on many rivals. The 67W USB-C port charged an ultrabook at a decent clip, easily enough for a day of remote work. Two honest downsides: the weight (722g) and bulk are noticeable in an already full bag, and crucially, it cannot fly in the cabin (166.5Wh, well above the 100Wh limit). Its foldable Gen'24 solar panel promises a top-up outdoors, but our research and many customer reviews point to solar charging that is very slow, sometimes barely noticeable. A genuinely rugged companion, just don't buy it for the solar panel alone.
The Xtorm XR203 won us over on paper: IP65 rating, foldable solar panel, kickstand, flashlight, three outputs including a 20W USB-C. In real use, wired charging keeps its promises: a full USB-C charge takes about 2.5 hours, and the three ports handle several devices at once without a hitch. The build feels reassuring too, with a rubberised shell that shrugs off knocks. The serious catch concerns the very feature that gives the product its name: solar charging. Out of the box, the XP2W300 impresses with its size: barely bigger than a picnic cooler, it slips into a backpack without you noticing its 3.65kg. During a weekend of outdoor remote work, the Smart Life app let us switch off the USB output remotely from the sofa, a detail that genuinely changes daily use compared with rivals that only offer short-range Bluetooth control. Camping overnight, it comfortably covered LED lighting and charging two phones and a camera without breaking a sweat. The EPS function proved itself during a test mains outage, the home router did not even have time to flicker.
