No independent measurement of the actual delivered capacity was found for this model, which is newer and less covered by test labs than flagship references from larger brands: the figures below are therefore the manufacturer's own claims, not lab-verified values.
The real story is not chemistry reliability, LiFePO4 is a solid choice shared by most direct rivals, but sizing. At an equal or similar power rating (300W), the EcoFlow River 3 Plus is rated at 286Wh and both the Anker Solix C300 and the Allpowers S300 Plus at 288Wh each, roughly 40% more capacity than the XP2W300 at a similar price. Unlike the River 3 Plus, which accepts an add-on battery up to 858Wh, the XP2W300 offers no expansion path at all: the capacity you buy is the capacity you keep.
PowerBoost and the 500W peak: how it works, and its limits
The XP2W300's mains output is rated at 300W continuous with a pure sine wave inverter, a detail that protects sensitive electronics (switch-mode chargers, small appliances). Xtorm adds a feature called PowerBoost, which temporarily allows an appliance rated up to 500W to be connected. The manufacturer explains the mechanism itself without ambiguity: rather than refusing the connection, PowerBoost intelligently lowers the output voltage to let the appliance run, an electric kettle is the example given in the official documentation.
This is an important difference from a true peak mode that would hold the nominal voltage: an appliance plugged in near the 500W ceiling will likely run, but not necessarily at its full rated performance, since the voltage feeding it has been reduced. No independent protocol was found to verify how PowerBoost actually behaves under a resistive load close to its upper limit, nor how long that mode can be sustained before a protection cutoff. The upside is the manufacturer's transparency about the mechanism: a kettle or a small heater rated at 500W will not necessarily behave as it would on a standard mains socket, and Xtorm states this plainly rather than implying otherwise.
Smart Life: WiFi control through a generic ecosystem, not a bespoke app
The XP2W300 pairs over Bluetooth for initial setup and is then controlled over WiFi through the Smart Life app: checking the charge level, switching each output on or off independently, and scheduling timers. Genuine remote control, not just short-range local Bluetooth, remains a real asset for a station at this size and price.

The choice comes down to a simple question: the most compact, best remotely controlled station, or the one that offers more Wh and more sockets for a comparable budget.
