Detailed overview: EcoFlow River 3 Max Plus Wireless 858Wh station
The EcoFlow River 3 Max Plus (Wireless) rethinks the portable power station around two strong ideas: modularity and wireless charging. It combines the River 3 Plus station (286 Wh) with an EB600 extra battery to reach a total capacity of 858 Wh, expandable thanks to the wireless connectivity between modules.
It delivers 600 W of rated power, raised to 1200 W with X-Boost, enough to power most everyday devices. Its great originality lies in two elements: a built-in Qi2 15 W inductive charger (twice as fast as first-generation Qi), on which you simply set your phone, and a magnetic Rapid 5000 mAh power bank that detaches to be carried on its own, while also serving as a wireless charging base for the smartphone. You grab the battery and go, cable-free.
On performance, it fully recharges in just 1 hour, accepts up to 220 W of solar input, and its under-10 ms switchover makes it a reliable backup for sensitive devices during a cut. Its operation stays quiet, under 30 dB, for continuous 24/7 use without disturbance.
Compact, modular and designed for the wireless era, EcoFlow's River 3 Max Plus (Wireless) is for anyone who wants a versatile, modern power station, as at home at camp as it is as quiet home backup, with the flexibility of a detachable portable battery. Note: the station has a 5-year warranty, the power bank 2 years.

Camping & Tent Ideal
Clever at the campsite, the River 3 Max Plus combines 858 Wh with a built-in Qi2 15 W wireless charging pad: just set the phone on top to recharge it, with no cable or occupied socket. Its 858 Wh light the tent, run a cooler and charge the whole group, and its 600 W (1200 W X-Boost) allow a small kettle. Its unique asset is its removable Rapid battery, which you detach to take along on a walk while leaving the base at camp. Quiet (30 dB) and recharged in 60 minutes, it blends comfort and flexibility. Rechargeable up to 220 W from solar, it tops up on the spot in good weather.
-
Remote work Ideal
For a mobile workstation, the River 3 Max Plus focuses on comfort: its 858 Wh and 600 W output run a computer, a monitor and a router all day, and its Qi2 wireless pad recharges the smartphone with a single gesture, without tying up ports. Its UPS function (10 ms switchover) protects the session from micro-cuts, and its removable Rapid battery lets you carry a separate energy reserve to a meeting or on the move. Quiet (30 dB), it goes unnoticed beside the desk, and a full recharge in 60 minutes brings it back online quickly. A clever base for regular mobile work.
-
Motorhome & Van life Suitable
In a van, the River 3 Max Plus offers a nice reserve for a weekend: its 858 Wh cover lighting, ventilation, device charging and small cooking, and its 600 W output occasionally accepts a hungrier appliance via X-Boost. Its wireless pad and removable Rapid battery add real flexibility aboard: detach the battery for a walk while leaving the base connected. Recharged in 60 minutes at a service area and up to 220 W from solar, it refills quickly. Compact, it stows easily. To live several days with a permanent fridge, a higher-capacity station will be more relaxed.
-
Road trip & Car Suitable
On a road trip, the River 3 Max Plus recharges while driving and keeps your essentials running at stops: it holds a cooler cold, recharges cameras, a laptop and phones, and its wireless pad takes the smartphone directly on top without a cable. Comparison
At around £389, the EcoFlow River 3 Max Plus (Wireless) compares with modular portable stations of roughly 800 Wh, targeted by searches such as "portable power station" or "modular power station". Here is how it sits against three references: the EcoFlow River 3 Plus, the Anker SOLIX C800 Plus and the Bluetti AC70.
| Criterion | River 3 Max Plus (Wireless) | EcoFlow River 3 Plus | Anker SOLIX C800 Plus | Bluetti AC70 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Capacity | 858 Wh | 286 Wh | 768 Wh | 768 Wh |
| AC output | 600W (X-Boost 1200W) | 600W | 1200W | 1000W |
| Qi2 wireless charging | Yes (15W built-in) | No | No | No |
| Removable battery | Yes (Rapid 5000mAh) | No | No | No |
| Observed price | ≈ £389 | ≈ £219 | ≈ £512 | ≈ £427 |
In short, the River 3 Max Plus (Wireless) is the only one to offer a modular design with Qi2 wireless charging and a detachable power bank, a unique concept that makes it especially versatile. The Anker SOLIX C800 Plus and the Bluetti AC70 offer more raw power for a bit less, but without the wireless flexibility. For a modern, quiet and modular station, the River 3 Max Plus clearly stands out.

Our tester's review: Christophe Delpuech
The River 3 Max Plus Wireless is one of the cleverest stations we have tested. The modular concept hits home: you keep the large capacity (858Wh) at home or camp, and detach the small magnetic Rapid 5000mAh power bank to head out with just enough to recharge your phone, wirelessly at that. The built-in Qi2 15W inductive charger is a real everyday comfort, you set the phone on it without looking for a cable. On performance, the 600W (1200W in X-Boost) power most devices, the full recharge in one hour is excellent, and the quiet (under 30 dB) makes it perfect indoors, even at night. The under-10 ms switchover secures sensitive devices during a cut. Two caveats: this premium modular concept costs a little more than a classic station of equivalent capacity, and the wireless part will mainly appeal to those living in the portable ecosystem. But for anyone wanting a versatile, quiet and genuinely modern station, it is an original success.
