Detailed overview: EcoFlow 220W bifacial portable solar panel

The EcoFlow 220W portable solar panel is designed to quickly recharge a power station in the sun, thanks to a technology that sets it apart: its bifacial design. Its front face catches the sun's direct radiation, while its rear face recovers light reflected by the ground or surrounding surfaces, allowing a conversion rate that can climb up to 25%, above classic monofacial panels.

Built for the outdoors, it is foldable and travels like a case. Once deployed, it rests on an adjustable 30 to 60° stand, with a built-in solar angle guide that helps aim it precisely at the sun to maximise output. Its XT60 cable is built directly in, which eases storage and allows a simple, direct connection to EcoFlow power stations in the River and Delta series.

On ruggedness, it benefits from IP68 certification, high protection against water and dust, letting it stay outside even in bad weather. EcoFlow backs it with a 5-year warranty, a mark of durability for regular outdoor use.

Powerful, bifacial and rugged, the EcoFlow 220W solar panel is for anyone who wants an efficient portable solar source for camping, van life, the motorhome or off-grid autonomy, able to recharge a large station in a few hours of full sun.

☀ How fast does this panel recharge a power station?

The EcoFlow 220W panel (220 W) recharges a Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 (1070 Wh) in ~6h55 or an EcoFlow Delta 2 Max (2048 Wh) in ~13h, in full sun.

Comparison

At around £299 to £428, the EcoFlow 220W solar panel compares with roughly 200W portable solar panels, targeted by searches such as "portable solar panel" or "foldable camping solar panel". Here is how it sits against three references: the Jackery SolarSaga 200W, the Bluetti PV200 and the EcoFlow 160W panel.

In short, the EcoFlow 220W panel stands out for its bifacial design that pushes efficiency up to 25%, its angle-guide stand and its very good IP68 rating, all at a price below the Jackery SolarSaga 200W and the Bluetti PV200, both monofacial. The little brother 160W keeps the same strengths for less, but with less power. To quickly recharge a station with a durable portable panel, the 220W is an excellent choice.

We used this 220W panel to recharge a power station while wild camping, and the bifacial design really makes a difference: placed on a light surface or grass, it grabs extra watts through its rear face, and you feel the gain on recharge time compared with a classic panel of equivalent power. The built-in solar angle guide is clever, you tilt the stand between 30 and 60° until you find the best yield, no guesswork. The already-integrated XT60 cable avoids carrying adapters and plugs straight into our EcoFlow stations. It folds neatly into its case and stays transportable, though it must be said that at 220W it is not the lightest (around 9.5 kg). The IP68 rating is reassuring when the weather turns, we left it out in a shower with no issue. Two honest caveats: the 25% efficiency depends on ideal placement (a reflective surface behind), and its deployed footprint needs a bit of space. But to quickly recharge a station in the sun, it is an excellent portable panel.

Frequently asked questions: EcoFlow 220W bifacial portable solar panel

The front face catches direct sun and the rear face recovers light reflected by the ground, which increases output. The conversion rate can reach 25%, above a classic monofacial panel of equivalent power.

Yes. Its built-in XT60 cable plugs straight into EcoFlow power stations in the River and Delta series. For other brands, an adapter to your station's solar input format may be needed.

Yes. Its IP68 certification offers high protection against water and dust, letting it stay outside even in a shower. It also carries a 5-year warranty.

Its stand adjusts from 30 to 60° and a built-in solar angle guide helps aim for the best sunlight, to maximise output throughout the day.
