Detailed overview: EcoFlow 45W USB-C portable solar panel
The EcoFlow 45W (USB-C) portable solar panel is the most compact model in the brand's solar range, designed to charge your devices directly in the sun thanks to a built-in USB-C output port. Phones, tablets, laptops, electric air pumps and other gadgets plug straight into it for a simple, practical charge, with no power station in between.
Its key asset is minimal bulk: its four-fold structure measures just 221 x 310 x 41 mm when folded, barely the thickness of a book. It stows in the smallest spaces and travels effortlessly, hung on a backpack or slipped into a pocket. It is the panel to take on a hike, a trek or light travel, when every gram counts.
Despite its mini format, it makes no compromise on efficiency: thanks to TOPCon solar technology, a first in the world of mini portable solar panels, it reaches a conversion rate that can climb up to 25%, for a faster charge on a small surface. On ruggedness, its fiberglass circuit boards and durable ETFE coating, combined with IP68 certification, let it withstand harsh weather conditions.
Ultra-compact, self-sufficient thanks to its USB-C output and efficient, the EcoFlow 45W solar panel is for anyone who wants to charge their electronic devices directly in the sun, on a hike, camping or travelling, in the smallest possible format.
Comparison
At around 60 to 100€, the EcoFlow 45W (USB-C) solar panel compares with mini USB-output solar panels, targeted by searches such as "portable solar charger" or "USB hiking solar panel". Here is how it sits against three references: the bigger brother EcoFlow 60W, the BigBlue 28W USB and the Anker 24W USB.
| Criterion | EcoFlow 45W (USB-C) | EcoFlow 60W (USB-C) | BigBlue 28W USB | Anker 24W USB |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Power | 45W | 60W | 28W | 24W |
| Direct USB-C output | Yes | Yes | Yes (USB-A) | Yes (USB-A) |
| Efficiency | TOPCon up to 25% | TOPCon up to 25% | ≈ 22% | ≈ 22% |
| Rating | IP68 | IP68 | IPX4 | IPX4 |
| Observed price | ≈ 79 € | ≈ 99 € | ≈ 60 € | ≈ 55 € |
In short, the EcoFlow 45W panel stands out for its modern USB-C output, its TOPCon technology that pushes efficiency to 25% and its very good IP68 rating, in the most compact format. The 60W offers more power for a little more, to prefer if you charge more demanding devices, while the BigBlue and the Anker, less powerful and limited to USB-A, remain budget alternatives. To charge your gadgets in the sun in an ultra-thin mini format, the 45W is an excellent choice.

Our tester's review: Julien De Jurquet
The 45W is the newest addition to the EcoFlow solar range, and it is the one you take when every gram counts. You plug the phone straight into its USB-C output and charge in the sun, with no station: ideal on a hike, where it slips into the bag without weighing anything or taking up space, as thin as a book once folded in four. Despite its mini size, the TOPCon technology does the job, you gain charging speed compared with an entry-level solar charger, and the fiberglass construction with ETFE coating and IP68 certification make it reassuring outdoors. We hung it on the backpack for a full day of walking, and the phone stayed charged without us worrying about it. Two honest caveats: 45W is a top-up power reserved for USB devices, not enough to recharge a large-capacity battery, and in overcast weather the output drops noticeably, as on any small panel. But to charge your gadgets in the sun in the smallest possible format, it is exactly what you need.
