Detailed overview: Jackery HomePower 2000 Plus v2 power station 2048Wh

The Jackery HomePower 2000 Plus v2 is the new generation of the HomePower range, designed first and foremost as a home backup power plant rather than a simple portable station. The unit sold on its own already has its own built-in 2048Wh LiFePO4 battery (51.2V, 40Ah): there is no need to buy a separate battery to start using it. To go further, Jackery offers the optional Battery Pack 2000 Plus V2, an expansion battery that connects to the DC expansion port and lets you scale up to 12kWh in total. Note that this expansion unit is only compatible with this V2 version: the older Battery Pack 2000 Plus (without V2) does not work with this new unit.

On power, the pure sine wave inverter delivers 2400W continuous and up to 4800W peak, spread across four AC outlets grouped into two circuits (AC1/AC2) that the Jackery Priority Routing function can cut separately based on your priorities, to preserve what matters once the battery drops below a set threshold. The automatic switchover during a mains outage happens in just 10 milliseconds, fast enough not to disturb a computer or a router.

The LiFePO4 battery is rated for 6000 cycles at 70% capacity, a theoretical lifespan of about 16 years on a daily cycle basis. The unit remains surprisingly light for its class (18.8kg), 34% less than the previous generation. Operation is also very quiet, under 30dB in silent mode.

For recharging, it accepts up to 800W of solar input (two DC8020 ports) and up to 1800W from the mains. On the low-voltage side, there is a 140W USB-C port with AVS support for fast-charging an iPhone, MacBook or iPad, a second 30W USB-C port, an 18W USB-A port and a 12V output. Everything is managed remotely via the Jackery app over Bluetooth and WiFi.

An important point to flag: at launch, the HomePower 2000 Plus v2 is only sold through the American jackery.com store, in a 120V/60Hz version built for the North American market, with no localised store or availability in the UK or the rest of Europe yet. Buying it therefore means ordering and shipping from the US, with the costs and delays that implies, and a 120V output that is not directly compatible with 230V European appliances.

⚡ How long will this power station run a device?

With 2,048 Wh, the Jackery HomePower 2000 Plus v2 external battery runs a fridge (50 W) for ~35h or an LED TV (90 W) for ~19h.

HomeRuntime
Refrigerator (50 W)~35h
Freezer (60 W)~29h
Portable AC (1000 W)~1h45
Kettle (1800 W)~60 min
Outdoor & workshopRuntime
LED lighting (10 W)~174h
Water pump (60 W)~29h
Circular saw (1200 W)~1h25
Pressure washer (1400 W)~1h15
→ ~35h of runtime

Rough estimate: real consumption varies, and very power-hungry appliances (heating elements) must stay below the output power.

What is this power station best for?

  • Built for exactly this, the HomePower 2000 Plus v2 is a genuine home backup power plant. Its stock 2048Wh, expandable up to 12kWh with additional Battery Pack 2000 Plus V2 units, lets you size autonomy to your household. Its 2400W continuous (4800W peak) powers a fridge, freezer, router, lighting and much of your daily appliances, split across two separately controllable AC1/AC2 circuits. Jackery Priority Routing automatically cuts secondary loads once the battery drops below a threshold you set, to preserve what matters longer. The automatic switchover during an outage happens in just 10ms, fast enough not to disturb a computer. The LiFePO4 battery, rated for 6000 cycles and a theoretical 16-year lifespan, offers long-term peace of mind. One catch for now: it currently only ships in the US and Canada, in a 120V version, not yet available for a European 230V home setup.

  • For a medical device like a CPAP, power continuity matters more than anything, and that is exactly what the HomePower 2000 Plus v2 targets with its 10ms switchover and its Jackery Priority Routing function, which can isolate a priority circuit from secondary loads during a prolonged outage. Its stock 2048Wh already covers several nights for a CPAP alone, and expanding to 12kWh via Battery Pack 2000 Plus V2 units means a multi-day outage is no longer a worry. Operation stays very quiet, under 30dB in silent mode, so it will not disturb sleep. The LCD screen and Jackery app let you monitor charge level remotely without getting up at night. Its LiFePO4 chemistry, more stable than conventional lithium, is reassuring for daily, prolonged use in a bedroom. One reservation: at 18.8kg it is not meant to be moved often, and it shines mostly installed permanently by the bed.

  • With 2048Wh and 2400W, the HomePower 2000 Plus v2 easily covers a motorhome or van's needs for several days: fridge, lighting, device charging and light electric cooking run without issue. Its solar input up to 800W recharges it at a stop in good weather. It remains better suited to a fixed setup than nomadic use though: at 18.8kg and built for expansion rather than daily transport, it is less nimble than a model like the Explorer 2000v2 for frequent travel. Its current 120V version also limits direct use in Europe.

  • Remote work Suitable

The HomePower 2000 Plus v2's 2400W and 2048Wh easily run an entire remote workstation for a full day: computer, multiple monitors, printer and router all run together with a wide margin of autonomy. Its 10ms switchover shields ongoing sessions from a micro-outage, and its sub-30dB operation makes it an unobtrusive presence next to the desk. The 140W USB-C port quickly recharges a laptop or tablet. Its format and weight (18.8kg) still make it better suited to a fixed desk than a daily mobile setup.

  • Off-grid & Solar Suitable

Paired with solar panels, the HomePower 2000 Plus v2 can become a genuine small storage system for an off-grid site: its stock 2048Wh, expandable up to 12kWh with additional batteries, and its solar input up to 800W can cover regular self-consumption needs. Its LiFePO4 battery, rated for 6000 cycles, copes well with daily cycling over the long run. The cost of expansion units, each Battery Pack 2000 Plus V2 sold separately, still needs serious budgeting for anyone aiming at true permanent autonomy rather than a seasonal top-up.

  • Job site & Tools Backup only

On a job site, the HomePower 2000 Plus v2 can help out thanks to its 2400W (4800W peak), enough for most power tools. But at 18.8kg and designed primarily for a fixed home setup, it is less practical to carry from point to point than a lighter, more nomadic station like the Explorer 2000v2, better suited to this kind of terrain.

Our team's recommendations based on the model's capacity, output power and weight.

Compatible solar panels

A selection of photovoltaic panels that suit this station's solar input (up to 60V / 800W), best match first.

Comparison

How does the Jackery HomePower 2000 Plus v2 stack up against other 2kWh-class stations, in searches like "HomePower 2000 Plus v2 vs Explorer 2000v2"? Here is how it compares to three alternatives in the same capacity bracket: the Explorer 2000v2, its lighter but non-expandable Jackery sibling; the EcoFlow Delta 2 Max, a proven home backup choice; and the Anker Solix C2000 Gen 2, another expandable and fast-charging station.

On expandability, the HomePower 2000 Plus v2 clearly leads the pack with up to 12kWh possible, against roughly 6.1kWh for the Delta 2 Max and 4.1kWh for the Solix C2000 Gen 2, let alone the Explorer 2000v2 which cannot expand at all. It also matches the Anker on switchover speed (10ms), a key point for backup use. EcoFlow still leads on solar input and the Explorer 2000v2 on weight, but for anyone after a solid base that can grow with their home power needs, the HomePower 2000 Plus v2 is the best-placed of the bunch, provided you accept its currently limited North American availability.

Our tester's review: Christophe Delpuech

See our tester's profile

The HomePower 2000 Plus v2 has only just launched in the US and is not yet sold in the UK or Europe, so we have not had it in hand yet, and we would rather say so plainly than fake a hands-on test. On paper it ticks every box for a solid home backup station: a stock 2048Wh, expandable up to 12kWh in stages with the Battery Pack 2000 Plus V2, and a mains switchover claimed at just 10ms, fast enough not to blink a router. The very first reviews from American owners lean positive: one owner notes very little charge loss over prolonged reliance on it, another uses it without issue to charge e-bikes upstairs. The one real gripe so far: at 18.8kg it is still a bit heavy to move around solo day to day, despite the claimed 34% weight cut from the previous generation. We will update this review once the model reaches Europe and we can test it in real conditions.

Frequently asked questions: Jackery HomePower 2000 Plus v2 power station 2048Wh

Yes, the unit sold on its own (without solar panels) already includes its own 2048Wh LiFePO4 battery. The Battery Pack 2000 Plus V2 is an optional expansion battery, bought separately to scale up to 12kWh, not a required accessory to get started.

By adding Battery Pack 2000 Plus V2 units through the DC expansion port, total capacity can reach up to 12kWh. Note this expansion battery is only compatible with this V2 version, not the older Battery Pack 2000 Plus.

Yes, that is its primary purpose: its UPS function switches to battery in 10ms, and Jackery Priority Routing can automatically cut non-essential circuits to preserve runtime for priority devices.

Not yet. At launch, the HomePower 2000 Plus v2 is only sold in the US and Canada through the official jackery.com store. There is no local store or Amazon listing yet for the UK, Germany, Italy or Spain.

Not directly: the version currently on sale outputs 120V/60Hz, the North American standard, which is not compatible with 230V European appliances without a suitable transformer. A 230V version may follow with a future European launch, not announced to date.
