Detailed overview: EcoFlow Delta 3 Classic portable power station

With the Delta 3 Classic, EcoFlow brings its Delta 3 range down to the essentials: it keeps the power and the reliability, and trims the price and the weight. The result is a 1024 Wh portable power station, the most affordable and the most mobile in the series, designed for camping, van life and occasional home backup.

On power, nothing has been held back: the 230V output delivers 1800 W continuous, rises to 2400 W with X-Boost technology and handles up to 3600 W surge. Enough to run a fridge, a coffee maker, an induction hob, an air fryer or corded power tools, just like at home. The automotive-grade LFP (LiFePO4) battery is rated for 4000 cycles before dropping to 80% of its capacity, meaning more than ten years of regular use.

Two strengths stand out in use. First, charging: from a simple socket, the Classic goes from 0 to 80% in 45 minutes and fills up in a little under an hour. On solar, it accepts up to 500 W with an MPPT controller, for a full charge in about 2.5 hours. Second, the quiet: EcoFlow rates it under 30 dB at 600 W, real comfort in a tent, a van or indoors during an outage.

Key specifications:

  • Capacity: 1024 Wh, LFP (LiFePO4) cells, 4000 cycles
  • AC output: 1800 W continuous, 2400 W X-Boost, 3600 W surge, pure sine wave
  • Recharge: mains 1400 W (0 to 80% in 45 min), solar up to 500 W
  • Inverter (EPS) switchover in 10 ms for sensitive devices
  • Outlets: 2 AC sockets, USB-C 100 W, USB-C 30 W, USB-A
  • Weight: about 12.1 kg, dimensions 398 x 202 x 284 mm, 5-year warranty
  • Control and scheduling via the EcoFlow app (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth)

To reach this price, EcoFlow made deliberate choices: fewer ports, no 12V car socket and a solar input capped at 500 W. If you are aiming for a large expandable setup, the Delta 3 Plus remains a better fit. But for a simple, powerful, light and quiet energy reserve at a low price, the Delta 3 Classic is one of the most convincing options on the market in 2026.

Rough estimate: real consumption varies, and very power-hungry appliances (heating elements) must stay below the output power.

What is this power station best for?

  • The most accessible model in the Delta 3 range, the Classic offers the essentials for a van or motorhome: its 1024 Wh power the fridge, lighting, ventilation, device charging and light cooking for several days on reasonable needs. Its 1800 W occasionally accept a hungrier appliance, and a full recharge in 60 minutes (80 % in 45 min) tops up at a service area during a break. A solar input up to 500 W ensures autonomy in the wild. Light (12.1 kg) and quiet (30 dB), it stows easily aboard. Not expandable, its capacity is fixed: for very long, power-hungry trips, aim for an expandable model.

  • Remote work Ideal

The Delta 3 Classic is an economical, reliable base for a mobile workstation: its 1800 W run a computer, monitors, a printer, the router and lighting, and its UPS function (switchover under 10 ms) keeps the setup protected and powered at the slightest micro-cut, with no data loss. Its 1024 Wh ensure a full day of connectivity away from the outlet, and its very fast recharge (80 % in 45 min) brings it back online quickly between meetings. Its two 100 W USB-C ports recharge laptops and tablets along the way. Light (12.1 kg) and quiet (30 dB), it moves easily from office to garden or co-working spot.

  • During an outage, the Delta 3 Classic secures the essentials: its UPS function switches over instantly (under 10 ms) to keep the internet box, computer, lighting and a small fridge running without a reboot. Its 1024 Wh cover these loads for several hours, and its 1800 W accept an occasionally hungry appliance. Its very fast recharge (80 % in 45 min) tops it up quickly once power returns, and a solar panel up to 500 W replenishes it during a lasting outage. Its fixed, modest capacity suits short-to-medium cuts on essential loads; for a whole home over several days, choose a higher-capacity model.

  • Job site & Tools Suitable

On a site without an outlet, the Delta 3 Classic brings versatile power at a low price: its 1800 W (3600 W peak) run a drill, jigsaw, sander or a work light, and its two outlets feed the usual stations. Its 1024 Wh cover a good part of the day, and its very fast mains top-up (80 % in 45 min) lets you set off again quickly between tasks, without the noise or fumes of a generator. Light (12.1 kg), it moves effortlessly. For very hungry tools or a full day at full tilt, a more powerful or expandable model will be better suited.

  • Road trip & Car Suitable

On a road trip, the Delta 3 Classic recharges while driving and keeps your essentials running at stops: it holds a cooler cold, recharges phones, cameras and a laptop, and powers a small camp appliance in the evening. Its 1800 W even allow a kettle or a coffee maker during a break. Its very fast recharge (80 % in 45 min) is a real asset: a short halt on a socket is enough to set off charged. Light (12.1 kg) and quiet (30 dB), it slips into the boot without weighing down the load. For long nights off-grid, a solar panel up to 500 W extends its autonomy.

Our team's recommendations based on the model's capacity, output power and weight.

I took it out in a van and kept it at home for a few days, and honestly, for the price, it ticks almost every box. First impression out of the box: it is surprisingly light for 1 kWh, you move it with one hand without thinking. Outdoors, I ran a compressor cooler, charged the phones and two laptops, and even pulled out the blender for a fruit juice in the middle of nowhere: the 1800 W takes it in stride. What impressed me most is the silence, even under load you forget it is there, a real plus when you sleep next to it in a van. Mains recharge is express, a lunch break is enough to leave nearly full. The compromises are real and worth knowing: few USB ports, no 12V car socket, and the solar input is capped at 500 W. Nothing dealbreaking for typical off-grid use. In the end, if you want a simple, powerful and quiet station around £500, it is a purchase I recommend without hesitation.

Frequently asked questions: EcoFlow Delta 3 Classic portable power station

The Classic is the stripped-down, cheaper version: same 1024 Wh capacity and same 1800 W output, but fewer ports, no 12V socket and a solar input capped at 500 W (versus 1000 W on the Plus). It is about £200 cheaper and aimed at simple, off-grid use.

With 1800 W continuous (2400 W with X-Boost, 3600 W surge), it powers the vast majority of everyday devices: fridge, coffee maker, microwave, induction hob, air fryer or corded tools. Only very power-hungry continuous loads exceed its capabilities.

On a mains socket, it goes from 0 to 80% in 45 minutes and reaches 100% in a little under an hour. On solar (up to 500 W), expect about 2.5 hours for a full charge in good weather. Car charging is possible with an optional alternator charger.

The Classic accepts up to 500 W of solar input through its MPPT controller. A 400 W panel recharges it in about 2.5 hours, two 220 W panels in 4 to 5 hours in good sunlight. Aim for a well-oriented, shade-free panel.

It is designed above all as a simple, standalone station. EcoFlow's spec sheet mentions extra-battery compatibility, but several hands-on tests describe it as a closed system focused on the essentials. For a truly expandable setup, the Delta 3 Plus is the better choice.

Yes, it is one of its strengths. EcoFlow rates it under 30 dB at 600 W, roughly the level of a whisper, and reviews confirm very discreet operation. That is a real plus for sleeping next to it in a van, in a tent, or using it indoors during an outage.
