Detailed overview: Victron MPPT 75/15 solar charge controller
The BlueSolar 75/15 from Victron Energy is an MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracker) solar charge controller, one of the most accessible in the range. Placed between the panels and the battery, it constantly locates the maximum power point of the panels, which noticeably improves energy harvest, especially under cloudy skies: up to 30% more than a simple PWM controller.
It accepts a panel (PV) input voltage up to 75 V and delivers a charge current of 15 A, for a recommended solar power of around 220 W at 12 V (440 W at 24 V). The battery voltage (12 or 24 V) is detected automatically. Its BatteryLife function intelligently adjusts the charge threshold to extend battery life, and it protects against overcharge, deep discharge and reverse polarity.
Compatible with lead-acid batteries (gel, AGM, flooded) and lithium, it is monitored and configured via an optional VE.Direct Bluetooth dongle (or via the SmartSolar version with built-in Bluetooth). Compact and reliable, it is an excellent choice for a small off-grid solar installation, a motorhome or a boat.

Frequently asked questions: Victron MPPT 75/15 solar charge controller
An MPPT controller like the BlueSolar 75/15 tracks the maximum power point of the panels and converts the excess voltage into usable current. It therefore recovers up to 30% more energy than a PWM controller, especially in low light.
It accepts an input voltage up to 75 V and 15 A of charge current, i.e. around 220 W of panels at 12 V and up to 440 W at 24 V. Beyond that, you need a larger model (100/20, 150/35...).
The BlueSolar is configured via an optional VE.Direct Bluetooth dongle. If you want built-in Bluetooth, look at the SmartSolar MPPT 75/15 version, otherwise identical in operation.
