Detailed overview: Callsun 110 W N-Type 16BB foldable solar panel
The Callsun 110W stands out less for its output, fairly ordinary in the category, than for its cell technology. It uses monocrystalline N-Type with sixteen busbars, a more recent architecture than the PERC fitted to the vast majority of portable panels. Two differences matter in real use: performance drops less quickly as the cell heats up, which happens systematically in full summer sun, and annual degradation is lower over the panel's life.
The sixteen busbars, those thin metal lines that collect current across the cell surface, shorten the distance electrons must travel before being captured. More busbars means fewer resistive losses, and therefore better efficiency for the same area. That is what lets Callsun quote 25 %, against under 18 % for a classic PERC cell.
The concrete consequence is power-to-weight. At 3.64 kilos for 110 watts, this panel is markedly lighter than the average 100 watt on the market, which often exceeds 4.5 kilos. Folded it measures 62 by 58 centimetres and 4 thick, a large satchel format that slides behind a seat or into a boot without taking over the space.
The IP67 rating deserves a mention because it is rare in this segment. Most foldables settle for a vague claim of splash resistance with no official value. IP67 means complete dust tightness and tolerance of temporary immersion. Combined with the ETFE coating, more resistant to UV and abrasion than the PET used on budget models, that allows you to leave it set up outdoors without constantly watching the weather.
On connections, the supplied five-in-one universal cable covers XT60, Anderson and DC 5521 and 7909 plugs, which settles compatibility with almost every power station on the market. Two USB ports, one USB-A 3.0 and one USB-C, additionally let you power a phone or a tablet directly without an intermediate station. The two adjustable kickstands deploy without tools and let you aim the panel at the sun, which makes a large difference to output outside the middle of the day.

☀ How fast does this panel recharge a power station?
The Callsun 110W N-Type panel (110 W) recharges a Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 (1070 Wh) in ~14h or an EcoFlow Delta 2 Max (2048 Wh) in ~27h, in full sun.
| Compact / mid | Recharge |
|---|---|
| Jackery Explorer 100 Plus (99 Wh) | ~1h15 |
| Allpowers Volix P300 (256 Wh) | ~3h20 |
| Bluetti EB3A (268 Wh) | ~3h30 |
| EcoFlow River 3 Max Plus (sans fil) (858 Wh) | ~11h |
| High capacity | Recharge |
|---|---|
| EcoFlow Delta 2 Max (2048 Wh) | ~27h |
| Allpowers R3500 V2 (2880 Wh) | ~37h |
| Jackery Explorer 3000 v2 (3072 Wh) | ~40h |
| Allpowers R4000 (3456 Wh) | ~45h |
Estimate in full sun (ideal conditions). In practice, count on 3 to 5 hours of truly useful sunlight per day, so a full recharge may span several days depending on weather and orientation.

Comparison
At around 150 euros, the Callsun 110W competes with 100 to 140 watt foldables, through searches such as "110W foldable solar panel" or "lightweight camping solar panel". Here is how it stacks up against three alternatives from our catalogue: the Allpowers SP029 140W, the Jackery SolarSaga 100W and the EcoFlow 110W.
| Criterion | Callsun 110W | Allpowers SP029 140W | Jackery SolarSaga 100W | EcoFlow 110W |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Output | 110 W | 140 W | 100 W | 110 W |
| Technology | N-Type 16BB, 25 % | Monocrystalline, 22 % | Monocrystalline, ≈ 23 % | Monocrystalline, ≈ 23 % |
| Weight | 3.64 kg | 4.49 kg | ≈ 4.7 kg | ≈ 5.4 kg |
| Weatherproofing | IP67 | Splash only | IP65 | IP68 |
| Observed price | ≈ 150 € | ≈ 169 € | ≈ 250 € | ≈ 300 € |
In short, the Callsun is the lightest of the group and the only one claiming N-Type cells, for less money than any of its direct rivals. The Allpowers SP029 offers 30 more watts for 850 extra grams and about twenty euros, a rational choice if weight matters little. Jackery's SolarSaga and the EcoFlow 110W are better established and better finished, with sturdier after-sales support, but cost 60 to 100 % more. If you want the lightest panel to carry on foot or by bike, the Callsun is currently the best candidate in the catalogue.

Our tester's review: Julien De Jurquet
The Callsun 110W arrived on the European market recently and it brings something the established foldables do not yet have: N-Type cells with sixteen busbars. Behind the jargon the idea is simple. The classic PERC cells fitted to most portable panels top out around 17 to 18 % efficiency. N-Type cells lose less performance as temperature rises and age more slowly, which explains the 25 % quoted here. In the field that mostly translates into an excellent power-to-weight ratio: 3.64 kilos for 110 watts, where many 100 watt panels exceed four and a half. Folded, it is the size of a large, slightly thick laptop, which makes it genuinely carryable by hand or strapped to the side of a bag. The IP67 rating is the other good news: most rivals settle for a vague "splash resistant" with no official figure, whereas here the value is stated and means temporary immersion is tolerated. You can therefore leave it out in a shower without rushing. The supplied five-in-one cable covers XT60, Anderson and DC 5521 and 7909 plugs, which settles compatibility with almost every station, and two USB ports let you use it on its own. The reservation concerns track record: with only 23 customer reviews, however good, there is still little data on how it holds up over time, where an established brand offers more reassurance. For a light, well-equipped panel under 150 euros, the proposition remains very attractive.
Frequently asked questions: Callsun 110 W N-Type 16BB foldable solar panel
Two things. They lose less efficiency as the cell heats up, which happens systematically in full sun, and they degrade more slowly over the years. Callsun quotes 25 % efficiency against under 18 % for a classic PERC cell, which explains the good power-to-weight ratio.
Very probably. The supplied five-in-one universal cable covers XT60, Anderson and DC 5521 and 7909 plugs, which is what almost every station on the market uses. Just check that your station's solar input accepts 19.8 V.
Yes, its IP67 rating is real and stated, which is rare at this price. It means complete dust tightness and tolerance of temporary immersion. The ETFE coating also resists UV better than the PET used on budget models.
The 110 watts corresponds to a laboratory measurement. In full summer sun with the panel well aimed thanks to its two kickstands, expect 75 to 90 watts. The advantage of N-Type cells is precisely that they collapse less as temperature rises.
