Detailed overview: Allpowers BS5000 Pro 5200Wh balcony solar storage system

The Allpowers BS5000 Pro is the 5.2 kWh model in Allpowers' plug and play home storage family, on sale in Europe since June 2026. One enclosure combines a LiFePO4 battery, two MPPT solar controllers and a 2400 W inverter: panels go in on one side, a mains plug on the other, and the ALLPOWERS app handles the rest. The idea is the same as any balcony battery: keep the day's production at home and use it in the evening, instead of feeding it to the grid when nobody is consuming it.

The 5200 Wh capacity comes from LiFePO4 cells that the manufacturer describes as semi-solid, rated for more than 6000 cycles with at least 80% of capacity left after 6000 cycles. The two MPPT inputs accept up to 1000 W each (10 to 100 V, 16 A), so 2000 W of panels in total; in full sun Allpowers quotes three to four hours for a full charge. It also charges from the mains at up to 2400 W, alone or together with solar.

The off-grid output delivers 2400 W continuously (4800 W peak for 10 seconds), with an automatic changeover announced in under 15 ms during a power cut. Connected to the grid, the system feeds in 800 W by default, adjustable from 0 to 2400 W in the app. Where plug-in solar is capped at 800 W, keep that factory setting. An ALLPOWERS or Shelly smart meter, not included in the box, regulates energy flows and prevents feed-in.

The IP65 enclosure measures 456 × 284.3 × 587.5 mm and weighs 65 kg, with battery heating and a stated operating range of -20 °C to +60 °C. Cooling is by fans, and the manual asks for at least 300 mm of clearance around the unit. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are built in, and up to three units can be paralleled for 15.6 kWh.

Points to keep in mind: 65 kg to place or mount securely, a 5-year warranty, and no independent test to date. As for availability, this is a 230 V / 50 Hz model sold in the EU: as of October 2026 the Allpowers UK store does not list it, so we show it as unavailable for UK buyers, and the price above is a conversion of the EU price rather than a price observed in the UK.

Comparison

Between roughly £1400 and £1700, the Allpowers BS5000 Pro compares with 5 kWh class balcony batteries, targeted by searches such as "BS5000 Pro vs Venus E 3.0" or "5 kWh balcony solar battery". Here is how it sits against three references: the Marstek Venus E 3.0, the Anker Solix Solarbank 4 E5000 Pro and the EcoFlow Stream AC 5000.

In short, the BS5000 Pro stands out from the Venus E 3.0 and the Stream AC 5000, which are plain AC-coupled reserves, with its two direct solar inputs and its 2400 W backup output. The Anker wins on MPPT count (4), expandability and IP66 rating, the Marstek on price, the EcoFlow on weight. In return, the BS5000 Pro is the heaviest and the shortest-warranted in the table (5 years against 10), with a price in the upper half: a relevant choice for anyone wanting all-in-one storage with backup, less so for anyone chasing the lowest price.

We have not had the BS5000 Pro in hand yet and no independent test has been published, so this opinion rests on the manufacturer's datasheet and manual. On paper, the logic is appealing. One box combines battery, solar chargers and inverter, with two MPPT inputs for panels facing different ways, and a 2400 W backup output that Allpowers says takes over in under 15 ms. Being able to set the feed-in is a plus, even if 800 W remains the sensible value. The reservations are clear: 65 kg to place on a load-bearing floor or mount securely, fans whose noise is not documented, a 5-year warranty where several rivals give 10, and a price among the highest in its class. It is also a 230 V EU model that is not sold in the UK at the moment. A good candidate for anyone wanting all-in-one storage with backup, to be confirmed by independent measurements.

Frequently asked questions: Allpowers BS5000 Pro 5200Wh balcony solar storage system

It doubles the capacity (5200 Wh against 2600 Wh) and weighs 65 kg against 38.8 kg. The 2400 W power, the two 1000 W MPPT inputs, the IP65 rating and the feed-in setting are the same according to the manufacturer's datasheet.

Not at the moment: the Allpowers UK store does not list it. It is a 230 V / 50 Hz model sold through the EU stores, which advertise free shipping within the EU. We show it as unavailable and the price as a conversion of the EU price.

Two independent MPPT inputs each accept up to 1000 W (10 to 100 V, 16 A), so 2000 W in total. Panels can be wired in series if the open-circuit voltage of each string stays below 100 V and the short-circuit current below 20 A.

The off-grid output delivers 2400 W (4800 W peak for 10 seconds) and the automatic changeover is announced in under 15 ms, enough to keep a fridge, a router and a computer running. The manufacturer says appliances plug straight into this output.

Yes, like any grid-connected solar installation, though the paperwork depends on where you live: registration in the Marktstammdatenregister in Germany, a declaration to Enedis in France, a communication to the local distributor under CEI 0-21 in Italy, and the RD 244/2019 self-consumption regime in Spain. Keep the feed-in at the 800 W factory setting.

Not to our knowledge: as of October 2026 only commercial announcements and presentation videos are available. The data on this page comes from the manufacturer and its manual, and will be updated if an independent measurement is published.
