You fit the SmartSolar 150/35 once a plain 75V or 100V controller becomes too tight for the job. On a van with two 200W panels wired in series rather than parallel, the gain is immediate: less loss in the cables, a thinner cable gauge is enough, and the controller keeps tracking the maximum power point without a hitch, even under a hazy sky. The built-in Bluetooth is a genuine everyday plus: the VictronConnect app shows live output, the 46-day history, and lets you tweak charge thresholds without ever opening the case. Victron's build quality inspires confidence, and the enclosure doesn't run hot even under full load. The real downsides: the price sits well above a plain PWM controller or a budget Chinese MPPT, and the IP43 rating means it needs shelter from direct spray. But for an installation that goes beyond 100V PV, this is one of the safest picks on the market today.
