Detailed overview: Anker USB-C 140W GaN 4-port charger

The Anker 140W charger is a premium USB-C power adapter, designed to replace all of a mobile user's chargers on its own. With 4 ports (several USB-C and one USB-A) and a maximum power of 140W on its main port, it covers absolutely every charging need, from smartphone to the most demanding laptop.

These 140W of USB-C Power Delivery are powerful enough to quickly charge demanding laptops and even a 16-inch MacBook Pro at full speed, where most chargers cap at 65 or 100W. When you plug in several devices, the charger intelligently splits the available power between the ports, letting you charge, for example, a laptop, a phone and earbuds simultaneously.

Its master asset is GaN (gallium nitride) technology: it concentrates high power in a far more compact, cooler-running unit than a conventional charger of the same power. The result is an adapter easy to slip into a bag despite its 140W. A small built-in display shows the delivered power in real time, handy to check your devices are charging at the expected speed.

True to Anker's reputation on chargers, it includes full protections (overvoltage, overheating, short circuit). For anyone travelling with a laptop and several devices, the Anker 140W charger is the investment that simplifies everything: one adapter, one socket, to charge it all.

We put the Anker 140W GaN 4-port charger to a real test, and its most important promise holds: a recent 16-inch MacBook Pro genuinely reaches 140W on the main port with the cable supplied. The catch: under sustained load, power drops to 120W after about half an hour, a behaviour Anker itself calls normal. With all four ports in use, the total never tops 134W, never the 140W in the name, though the allocation stays smart: a phone plugged in last still charges quickly. The built-in display showing real-time power is a genuine help for checking a charge. Two narrower limits: a PPS ceiling at 20V costs certain Android phones a few watts, and the missing 12V step rules out some older DJI drones. For anyone wanting one compact charger to replace every other one while travelling, this is a solid choice.

Frequently asked questions: Anker USB-C 140W GaN 4-port charger

Yes. Its 140W of USB-C Power Delivery charge a 16-inch MacBook Pro at full speed, as well as the most demanding laptops, where a 65 or 100W charger would be limited.

The charger has 4 ports. You can charge up to 4 devices simultaneously (laptop, phone, tablet, earbuds). The power is intelligently split between the ports according to needs.

GaN (gallium nitride) technology delivers high power in a far more compact, cooler-running unit than a conventional charger. The 140W charger thus stays easy to carry.

The built-in display shows the power delivered by the charger in real time. It is handy to check each device is charging at the expected speed, especially when several devices are plugged in.
