Detailed overview: Renogy LiFePO4 100Ah 12V Bluetooth battery
The Renogy 100Ah 12V battery is a 1280Wh LiFePO4 lithium battery, designed to serve as an energy reserve in a solar installation, an RV, a van, a boat or with a trolling motor. It is one of the benchmark lithium batteries for replacing old lead-acid batteries, which are heavier, less durable and limited in discharge.
Its LiFePO4 chemistry gives it two major advantages: a lifespan of over 6000 cycles (versus a few hundred for lead-acid), and the ability to discharge it almost fully (up to 100% depth of discharge) without damage, which in practice doubles the usable capacity compared with a lead-acid battery of the same nominal value. Its built-in BMS handles up to 150A discharge, allowing high power peaks to run a powerful inverter.
On monitoring, it includes Bluetooth: the Renogy app lets you remotely monitor the charge level, voltage, current and battery health from a smartphone, a real comfort for an installation you do not always see. Its IP67 rating protects it against dust and splashes, making it suitable for damp environments like a boat or a converted van.
Its only trade-offs are logical for a battery of this capacity: it stays heavy (a 100Ah battery weighs around ten kilos), and its price is higher than lead-acid. But given its far longer lifespan and much higher usable capacity, the investment is quickly offset. To form the heart of a reliable solar kit or 12V setup, the Renogy 100Ah is a safe and proven choice.
Comparison
How does the Renogy 100Ah battery compare with rival 12V LiFePO4 batteries?
| Model | Capacity | BMS | Cycles | Bluetooth |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Renogy 100Ah 12V | 100Ah | 150A | 6000+ | Yes |
| Power Queen 100Ah | 100Ah | 100A | 4000+ | No (base version) |
| LiTime 100Ah | 100Ah | 100A | 4000+ | No (base version) |
At equal capacity, the Renogy 100Ah stands out for its beefier BMS (150A versus 100A), its longer lifespan (6000 cycles) and its built-in Bluetooth monitoring, often optional on Power Queen or LiTime. The latter remain a little cheaper, but the Renogy offers better monitoring and greater longevity.

Our tester's review: Julien De Jurquet
The Renogy 100Ah 12V battery is one of those lithium batteries that made off-grid and solar energy genuinely accessible. In a van or RV setup, its 1280Wh offer a solid reserve, and above all its LiFePO4 chemistry lets you discharge it almost fully without harming it, unlike old lead-acid batteries. Its 150A BMS is a real asset: it allows high power peaks, enough to run a beefy inverter. We really like the Bluetooth monitoring via the Renogy app, which lets you keep an eye on the charge level and battery health from your phone, along with the reassuring IP67 rating on a boat. The only downsides are the weight (a 100Ah battery is still heavy) and a price above lead-acid, quickly offset by the lifespan. For the heart of a reliable solar kit, it is a safe bet.
