Detailed overview: Noco Genius2X2 dual battery charger

The Noco Genius2X2 is the first charger in the Genius range to offer two fully independent charging banks in a single unit. Unlike the Genius5 or the Genius10, which handle only one battery at a time, the Genius2X2 charges and maintains two 6V or 12V batteries simultaneously, each managed separately by its own 2A bank (4A total). It's an ideal solution for anyone who needs to maintain two vehicles at once: a motorcycle and a car, a boat and a quad, or both batteries of a camper.

Like the rest of the range, the Genius2X2 is compatible with lead-acid batteries (AGM, Gel, sealed, deep-cycle) and lithium LiFePO4 batteries, up to 40 Ah per bank. A built-in thermal sensor adjusts charge voltage based on ambient temperature, avoiding overcharging in summer and undercharging in winter. Its precision pulse charging automatically detects and corrects sulfation and acid stratification, extending battery life.

The Genius2X2 recharges batteries down to 1V, and its Force mode lets you manually resume charging completely dead batteries, down to 0V. It's designed to stay connected permanently: once charging is complete, each bank switches to float maintenance and monitors voltage with no risk of overcharge, making it a reliable winter storage companion for two vehicles at once.

Unlike the Genius5 and Genius10, it does not offer a dedicated Repair or Supply mode: its functions stay automatic and focus on dual charging and maintenance. Supplied with four AC cables (EU, UK, US, AU plugs), two clamps with integrated eyelet terminals and two 3-metre extension cables, it installs easily even at a distance from the batteries. IP60-rated housing (dust protection), 3-year warranty.

For a single vehicle with one large battery to recharge quickly, the Genius5 or Genius10 remain more relevant. But for the regular maintenance of two batteries in parallel, the Genius2X2 is one of the few smart chargers that does it this cleanly.

Only the Genius2X2 can charge two batteries at once: the Genius5, Genius10 and CTEK MXS 5.0 are all limited to a single battery per unit. In exchange, each Genius2X2 bank caps out at 40 Ah and 2A, versus 120 Ah for the Genius5 and 230 Ah for the Genius10: for a single large battery that needs charging quickly, those remain faster. But for maintaining two vehicles in parallel, lead-acid or lithium, the Genius2X2 is the only choice that spares you buying two chargers.

We installed the Genius2X2 in a garage that hosts both a motorcycle and a small car that barely gets used in winter, exactly the use case this charger was built for. No more juggling one unit or buying two separate chargers: each bank does its own job, one on the car's lead-acid battery, the other on the bike's lithium battery, without interfering with each other. The LED indicators on each bank make it easy to check charge status at a glance. The automatic desulfation gave a noticeable boost to a lead-acid battery that was starting to tire. Our only gripe: with 2A per bank and a 40 Ah ceiling, it takes patience on a large battery, and it lacks the Genius5's manual Repair mode. But for maintaining two vehicles at once without having to think about it, it's remarkably practical and reliable, just like the rest of the Noco range.

Frequently asked questions: Noco Genius2X2 dual battery charger

Yes. Its two 2A banks are fully independent: you can charge a lead-acid battery and a lithium battery simultaneously, or two different voltages (6V and 12V), without them affecting each other.

Each bank handles batteries up to 40 Ah. Beyond that, charging is still possible but slower: for larger batteries, the Genius5 (120 Ah) or Genius10 (230 Ah) are a better fit.

Yes, both banks accept lead-acid (AGM, Gel, sealed) as well as lithium LiFePO4, with each bank automatically detecting and adapting its charge mode.

Yes. Once the batteries are charged, each bank switches to float maintenance and continuously monitors voltage, with no risk of overcharge, for safely storing two vehicles over winter.
