It is hard to find anything more reliable than Eneloop, and you quickly understand why they are so widely praised. We use them daily in game controllers, remotes, a wireless mouse and a camera flash, and they take it all without complaint. Their real strength is low self-discharge: pulled from a drawer after months of neglect, they are still full and ready to use, where cheap rechargeables would be flat. On the flash, they keep the pace without weakening, a good sign of their consistency. Sold in packs of 8, they quickly pay for themselves against disposables, especially with a good charger. The 1900 mAh capacity is slightly below the Pro versions (2500 mAh), but in return they handle many more cycles and age better. The only small downside, like any NiMH cell, is that they deliver 1.2V instead of the 1.5V of an alkaline, which can bother a few very voltage-sensitive devices. For everything else, it is a purchase you never regret.
