Fitted in place of an old lead-acid battery in a converted van, the Vatrer Power 200Ah makes the difference in usable range obvious straight away: you actually get to use nearly all of the rated 2560Wh, unlike lead-acid, which never tolerated a full discharge. The Bluetooth app is genuinely handy day to day for checking the charge level without opening the battery locker, though its range is limited to a few metres, so you need to stay fairly close for a reliable connection. The 200A BMS is reassuring when running a beefy inverter, and the IP65 rating held up well over an extended stint on a boat, with no trace of moisture inside the battery box. At 22 kg it stays manageable between two people, a world away from an equivalent lead-acid unit. The one real downside: like any LiFePO4 battery without self-heating, charging is best avoided in very cold weather, worth planning around for winter use in the mountains. For the price, it is a safe bet for switching over to lithium.
