Detailed overview: Fogstar Drift 12V 230Ah LiFePO4 lithium battery
The Fogstar Drift 12V 230Ah (Gen2) is a premium LiFePO4 lithium leisure battery, a UK benchmark for van, RV, boat and off-grid conversions. It succeeds the brand's older 200Ah model, with slightly increased capacity.
Its quality rests first on its Grade A cells from Chinese manufacturer EVE, one of the world's LiFePO4 leaders, a guarantee of reliability and longevity. Its LiFePO4 chemistry ensures over 4000 cycles of charge and discharge at 80% depth of discharge, a lifespan of many years, and lets you discharge it almost fully without damage, unlike lead-acid batteries.
It has a built-in BMS (battery management system) protecting it against overcharge, deep discharge, short circuits and extreme temperatures, plus Bluetooth: the Fogstar Drift app lets you remotely monitor the charge level, voltage, current and battery health from a smartphone. Above all, it has an automatic heating function that warms the cells to allow safe charging even in cold weather (below 0 °C), a valuable feature for winter use in a van or boat, that many entry-level batteries do not offer.
Its only constraints for the European market are its distribution, the Fogstar brand being mainly present in the UK and rarely on French marketplaces, and its price, in line with its premium positioning. But for the heart of a reliable, durable and well-equipped leisure setup (Bluetooth, heating), the Fogstar Drift 230Ah is one of the best batteries in its class.

Comparison
How does the Fogstar Drift 12V 230Ah compare with rival LiFePO4 leisure batteries?
| Criterion | Fogstar Drift 230Ah | Renogy 100Ah | Power Queen 200Ah |
|---|---|---|---|
| Capacity | 230Ah | 100Ah | 200Ah |
| Bluetooth | Yes | Yes | No (base) |
| Heating | Automatic | No (low-temp cut-off) | No (base) |
| Cycles | 4000+ | 6000+ | 4000+ |
The Fogstar Drift 230Ah stands out for its large capacity (230Ah) combined with built-in Bluetooth and heating, often absent from entry-level models like the base Power Queen. The Renogy 100Ah offers similar features but half the capacity. Fogstar's main drawback in Europe remains its mainly UK availability.

Our tester's review: Julien De Jurquet
Fogstar has become a UK benchmark for lithium leisure batteries, and the Drift 12V 230Ah shows exactly why. In a van or boat conversion, its 230Ah offer a comfortable reserve, and the fact that it uses Grade A cells from manufacturer EVE inspires confidence over time. The Bluetooth monitoring via the app is a real plus: you keep an eye on the charge level and battery health from your phone. We really like the built-in heating, which allows safe charging even in cold weather, a point too many batteries neglect. Its LiFePO4 chemistry ensures a very long life (over 4000 cycles). Its main drawbacks for the European market are its availability, the brand being mainly distributed in the UK, and its price, in line with its premium positioning. Note too that it replaces the older 200Ah model, with slightly higher capacity.
