The charger for large cell collections
The Xtar VC8 is a smart eight-bay charger, built for users with lots of cells: flashlight, vaping, RC hobby, or battery pack enthusiasts. It plugs in via a simple USB-C cable and automatically detects each inserted cell's chemistry.
From 10440 to 26650, plus NiMH and NiCd
Its compatibility is broad: Li-ion and IMR cells from 10440 to 26650, including 14500, 16340, 18650, 20700, and 21700, as well as rechargeable NiMH and NiCd batteries in AA, AAA, and C sizes. All eight bays are independently managed, so you can charge eight cells of different types, sizes, or charge levels at once.
A large LCD screen that goes beyond charging
The LCD screen shows in real time, for each cell, the voltage, current, capacity charged, and internal resistance, valuable data for spotting a tired cell. The VC8 also offers a real capacity testing function and a grading mode that sorts cells by health, useful for building matched pairs or uniform packs.
USB-C QC3.0, up to 3A with the right charger
Powered via USB-C with QC3.0 fast charging, the VC8 delivers up to 3A on one bay and offers five selectable currents (3A, 2A, 1A, 0.5A, and 0.25A) to adapt charging to each cell.
Eight bays, a footprint to match
Sturdy and complete, with protection against overheating, overvoltage, and short circuits, the VC8 accepts a bulkier footprint than the four-bay chargers in the same lineup, a logical trade-off for its eight bays. No backup USB output is offered, unlike the Xtar X4, which can rescue a phone.
Who the VC8 is for
This charger suits anyone with a significant collection of 18650, 21700, or AA/AAA cells to recharge and analyze regularly, without multiplying four-bay chargers. For more compact daily use, the Xtar VC4SL already covers internal resistance on four bays. For true diagnostics with external probes and REFRESH mode, the Xtar Dragon VP4 Plus goes further.
