Detailed overview

The Nitecore NB10000 is a 10,000 mAh power bank built for outdoor lovers who count every gram. Its trick: a carbon fibre body, the material used in aerospace and motorsport, that lets it weigh just 150 g while resisting knocks, scratches and twisting. It is one of the lightest 10,000 mAh power banks on the market, a decisive advantage for hiking, trail running, bikepacking or trekking.

On charging, it offers a bi-directional USB-C port up to 20 W (Power Delivery) and a USB-A port up to 18 W (Quick Charge 3.0), usable at the same time. So you can fast-charge a smartphone or power two devices at once. The USB-C port also recharges the battery itself. A low-power mode charges small devices (a smartwatch, earbuds) that some power banks cut off automatically.

Rugged, it carries an IPX-5 rating (resistant to water jets and splashes) and survives a 1.5 m drop, ready to face rain, dust and rough handling. Blue LED indicators show the charge level across three steps. Ultra-thin (10.6 mm) and compact (121.9 x 59 mm), it slips into any pocket.

Its 10,000 mAh (around 37 Wh) recharge most smartphones two to three times, and it stays under the 100 Wh airline cabin limit. For anyone wanting the lightest, toughest power bank possible without giving up capacity, the Nitecore NB10000 is an absolute benchmark among hikers and travellers.

Comparison

At around 25 to 70€, the Nitecore NB10000 compares with the most sought-after 10,000 mAh power banks for the outdoors, through searches such as "Nitecore NB10000 vs Anker PowerCore" or "lightest 10000 mAh power bank". Here is how it sits against three alternatives: the Anker PowerCore 10000, the INIU 10000 mAh and the larger Nitecore NB20000.

In short, the Nitecore NB10000 is the weight-to-toughness champion: at 150 g it is one of the few 10,000 mAh units this light and, thanks to its carbon fibre shell and IPX-5 rating, one of the toughest. The Anker PowerCore and INIU are far cheaper but heavier and plastic, with no water protection, while the Nitecore NB20000 doubles the capacity and power for bigger needs, at a clearly higher weight. For hiking, trail running or light travel, the NB10000 remains the go-to choice.

We took the Nitecore NB10000 hiking and travelling, and its knockout argument is the weight: 150 g, you literally forget it in the bag. For anyone counting grams on a trek or bikepacking trip, it is a real game-changer, especially as the 10,000 mAh capacity is plenty to last several days with a phone. The carbon fibre body inspires confidence: after a few knocks and a downpour, it looks brand new, and the woven finish is gorgeous. When charging, the 20 W over USB-C top up a smartphone at a good pace, and being able to plug in two devices at once is handy. The low-power mode is clever for charging a watch or earbuds without the battery cutting out. Two honest reservations: the power stays moderate (not enough to charge a big laptop at full speed), and the ultra-thin format, very pleasant, makes it a little slippery. But for a light, tough, reliable outdoor power bank, the NB10000 remains a hard-to-beat benchmark.

Frequently asked questions

Just 150 g for 10,000 mAh, making it one of the lightest power banks on the market. That feather weight comes from its carbon fibre body, very tough without being heavy.

It is IPX-5 rated, meaning resistant to water jets and splashes (rain, spray), but not designed to be submerged. It also survives a 1.5 m drop thanks to its carbon shell.

Yes. At around 37 Wh, it stays well under the 100 Wh cabin limit set by most airlines, with no special authorisation needed.

Yes, it has a USB-C port (up to 20 W) and a USB-A port (up to 18 W) usable at the same time. The total power is then shared between the two outputs.

Yes. It has a dedicated low-power mode for small devices like smartwatches or earbuds, which many power banks cut off automatically because they draw too little current.
