Bosch ProCORE18V 8.0Ah battery

The ProCORE18V 8.0Ah sits at the top of Bosch's 18V Professional battery range, the current generation of the brand's 18V system. Two layers of high-output 21700 cells deliver up to 87% more power than a conventional battery, enough to keep the hungriest tools fed: circular saws, angle grinders and rotary hammers.

Bosch's exclusive CoolPack 2.0 technology dissipates heat around 15% faster than the previous generation and, according to the brand, extends service life by up to 135% compared with a standard Bosch 18V pack without CoolPack. Copper end plates, power rails and a flexible circuit board are built in to cut internal resistance, which helps the pack sustain a heavy current draw without sagging.

The ProCORE18V 8.0Ah is engineered for the whole Bosch 18V Professional system and works with 18V tools and chargers you already own, including the high-torque PROFACTOR line. It is also part of the AMPShare system, a shared 18V platform designed to work across a growing list of partner tool brands. Its taller cell stack does not, however, fit every compact 18V tool, notably some older circular saws, so it is worth checking clearance against your tool before buying if you already run slimmer CORE18V packs.

A high-resolution LED charge indicator shows the remaining level at the press of a button, and at 955g the battery stays reasonably manageable for this capacity. Paired with the GAL18V-160C fast charger, it reaches 80% charge in around 32 minutes.
