Detailed overview: Bosch 18V 5Ah compatible battery - photo 2
This replacement battery BAT618 is designed for Bosch Professional 18V cordless tools (GBA, BAT618, BAT620, GSR, GSB, GBH). Over time, the original battery loses capacity and runtime drops: replacing it gives your device a full day of use again.
With a capacity of 5.0 Ah, it matches the original battery's characteristics. Before ordering, be sure to check the exact reference of your battery (BAT618) and the precise model of your device, as variants exist across series.
Tip: a spare battery charged in advance is also a handy safety net for outings, travel or long sessions, so you never run out at the wrong moment.

Our tester's review: Yoni Marchal-Laporte
This compatible 18V 5Ah battery targets Bosch Professional tools at a price around 25% below the genuine part, and its mount fits normally across the whole range, with no reported jamming on a recent tool. The real point of attention is real-world capacity: on similar compatible Bosch batteries in the same price bracket, the capacity actually delivered typically sits between 50 and 65% of the figure on the box, a gap far more severe than simple marketing optimism. No independent test exists for this exact reference, but it uses the same generic, unbranded cells as the products compared, and cuts out sooner than a genuine one under heavy load. A handful of negative flags with no detail show up on the retailer's page, too small a sample to draw firm conclusions. For occasional use on a tight budget, it remains an option; for daily professional use, the reliability gap is worth weighing against the money saved.

Across the whole 18V Professional range, the blue tools, yes: the mount has not changed. Be careful not to confuse it with the green consumer range, whose 18V batteries use a different mounting and are not compatible despite the same stated voltage. That is the most common buying mistake with this brand.
Start with temperature: after heavy use or in cold weather, the charger refuses to start and waits for the pack to come back into its working range. Leave it an hour at room temperature before drawing conclusions. Then check that the contacts are clean and that the charger belongs to the same range. If it still refuses at room temperature with clean contacts, a cell is out of balance and the pack has reached the end of its life.
