We tested this charger for several weeks with a mixed batch of old and new eneloop pro AA and AAA batteries, and the LCD screen really changes things: you can see the voltage of each cell at a glance, its restored capacity in mAh, and above all you spot a tired cell before you even start charging it. The Refresh mode gave a real second wind to old batteries that had been sitting in a drawer for months, with a measurable capacity gain. Individual per-slot charging is a genuine plus: you can mix AA and AAA without a second thought. The USB port for topping up a phone is handy, even though it pauses battery charging while it is in use. The only real downsides are the price, well above basic chargers, and a faint hum while charging. On a few badly worn batteries, detection can also be a bit temperamental. It still remains the most complete and informative eneloop charger on the market, built for anyone who genuinely takes care of their rechargeable batteries.
