On the road, this little Ugreen charger does exactly what it promises, with no frills. The two USB-A Quick Charge 3.0 ports charge really fast: a compatible smartphone gets most of its battery back in a short half hour, enough to get through a trip even starting with very little charge left. We plugged the driver's phone in for GPS navigation and the passenger's phone at the same time, with no noticeable slowdown on either port. The aluminium body stays warm rather than hot even after a long drive, and it sits firmly in the socket without wobbling on corners. The one real downside: no USB-C port, so no laptop charging or Power Delivery, this is really meant as a phone and tablet charger. For the price and the job it does, it is hard to find anything simpler or more effective.
