We tested this Anker 167.5W charger on a long road trip, with a MacBook Pro plugged into the 100W port while an iPhone charged on the 45W port and earbuds on the USB-A port. Result: the laptop picked up almost half its charge in under an hour, literally like on mains power, without the body getting worryingly hot. The size is the real surprise, barely bigger than a key fob, it never gets in the way of the gear lever or the storage bins. It works straight out of the box, no button or setting, just plug in and it charges at the maximum power available. One small gripe: the USB-A port tops out at 22.5W, a bit tight for a power-hungry tablet, and the price sits above a basic charger. But for anyone who genuinely needs to charge a laptop in the car, this Anker charger is one of the most convincing on the market, well above the small 30W model from the same brand.
