Orium MC4 Extension 5m

The Orium MC4 solar extension cable answers a very common need as soon as you install a solar panel: gaining distance. The cable supplied with a panel is often short, yet you rarely have the controller, battery or power station right next to the panel. This 5-metre extension lets you place the panel where the sun hits hardest, away from where the energy is stored or used.

The set includes two 5 m leads, one red (positive pole) and one black (negative pole), to follow the usual colour code and avoid wiring mistakes. Each lead is fitted at its ends with factory-mounted male and female MC4 connectors: no crimping or tools are needed, you simply clip the connectors, which lock with a click. As MC4 is the universal photovoltaic standard, this extension is compatible with almost all solar panels, controllers, solar suitcases and power stations that use this connector.

On the build side, the cable is copper (4 mm² section) and its jacket resists UV and weather, making it suitable for prolonged outdoor use. The MC4 connectors provide good sealing once clipped, protecting the connection from water and dust.

Simple, universal and rugged, this Orium extension is the basic accessory for any mobile or fixed solar setup. Note: to connect several panels in parallel (to add up the currents), you will also need Y-branch MC4 connectors, sold separately. For simply extending the length from a panel to its controller, this extension does exactly the job.
