Duracell LR44 Batteries (x4)

The LR44 is one of the most widely used alkaline button cells in the world. Small but ubiquitous, it appears in a multitude of everyday objects: watches and clocks, calculators, toys and electronic games, laser pointers, medical thermometers, digital calipers, testers, night lights, bathroom scales and small remotes. If a compact device needs a round, flat 1.5V cell, there is a good chance it is an LR44.

Technically, it is a 1.5 volt alkaline cell in a very compact button format: 11.6 mm diameter and 5.4 mm thick, for a capacity of about 150 mAh. It is sold here in a pack of 4, in its original Duracell blister, a brand recognised for the reliability and shelf life of its batteries.

The LR44 hides under many names depending on the manufacturer, which often causes confusion. It corresponds notably to the AG13, A76, 76A, V13GA or GPA76 references. It should, however, be distinguished from its silver oxide equivalent, the SR44 (also called 357 or SR44W): the same size, this one delivers a more stable voltage over time and suits demanding measuring instruments better, but costs more. For the vast majority of everyday uses, the alkaline LR44 remains the most economical and widespread choice.

Like all button cells, the LR44 must be kept out of reach of young children, as swallowing it is dangerous. At end of life, it should be recycled in the battery collection bins provided. Reliable, universal and inexpensive, the Duracell LR44 is the spare cell to keep ready in a drawer.
