Detailed overview: Votronic 200A shunt battery monitor
The Votronic LCD Battery Computer 200 S is the large-format version of the well-known 100 S battery monitor: same principle, same compact build, but a shunt rated at 200A to comfortably handle big lithium battery banks and the current draw of a powerful inverter, air conditioning or a compressor fridge-freezer. Like its smaller sibling, it continuously measures voltage and incoming/outgoing current, and calculates the battery's real state of charge using a precision shunt fitted on the negative terminal.
The supplied shunt is a new-generation Smart Shunt, more accurate and less power-hungry than its predecessor: 200A continuous, up to 300A for 15 minutes and 900A at short peak, with fine measurement resolution (0.1A and 0.1V). The backlit LCD display simultaneously shows the main battery voltage, the voltage of a second battery, such as the starter battery, the charge or discharge current, and the remaining capacity in amp-hours and percentage.
Compatible with wet lead-acid, Gel, AGM and LiFePO4 lithium batteries (adjustable capacity from 50 to 2000 Ah), the unit works in both 12V and 24V. A programmable switching output (PNP, 0.5A max) can automatically cut power to consumers below a set charge threshold, protecting the battery from deep discharge, with a NOT-ON function to briefly restore power at the touch of a button.
For remote monitoring, an optional Bluetooth Connector S-BC module lets you check the charge and discharge history from the Votronic Energy Monitor app. Compact (80 x 85 x 24 mm, with a mounting depth of just 22 mm) and light (295 g for the display and shunt combined), the LCD Battery Computer 200 S is just as easy to fit as the 100 S. For a motorhome or van with a large lithium battery bank or power-hungry appliances, this Votronic monitor offers the measuring headroom the 100A model sometimes lacks.

Comparison
How does the Votronic LCD Battery Computer 200 S compare to other battery monitors built for large installations, a comparison many owners search before choosing a brand?

The Votronic 200 S stands out for its physical display, always visible without a phone, a real plus for a quick check day to day, and for a shunt rating better matched to large installations without jumping all the way to the 500A of the Victron units. The Victron SmartShunt and BMV-712, as well as the Renogy, lean more on native Bluetooth and a richer app. For a direct, reliable readout without depending on an app, with comfortable headroom for a large lithium bank, the Votronic 200 S remains a sensible and affordable choice.
Our tester's review: Gilles Caron
Fitted in a coachbuilt motorhome with a 400 Ah LiFePO4 leisure battery bank and a sizeable inverter, the Votronic LCD Battery Computer 200 S immediately proved its worth over the 100A model, which struggled the moment the inverter drew hard. The supplied Smart Shunt, more accurate and less power-hungry than the older generation, fits exactly like the 100 S, on the battery's negative terminal. After a first full charge to calibrate the unit, the percentage and amp-hour readout genuinely matches reality, even under heavy short-term current draw. The screen stays readable in bright sun, and dialling in the LiFePO4 profile takes only a few minutes. The one downside, as with the 100 S: Bluetooth is not built in, you need the optional module to get the app and charge history. For a motorhome or van with a large lithium battery bank, this Votronic monitor finally gives the measuring headroom the 100A model lacked.
Frequently asked questions: Votronic 200A shunt battery monitor
Yes, alongside lead-acid, Gel and AGM batteries, it has a dedicated setting for LiFePO4 lithium batteries, with an adjustable capacity from 50 to 2000 Ah.
Only the shunt rating changes: 100A continuous for the 100 S, 200A for the 200 S (up to 900A at short peak). Operation, dimensions and price stay close.
Not natively. An optional Bluetooth Connector S-BC module, sold separately, lets you track charging and history from the Votronic Energy Monitor app.
As soon as a powerful inverter, air conditioning or several heavy loads can draw more than 100A at peak, the 200A shunt of the 200 S avoids saturating the measurement.
