Detailed overview
Our team of testers and specialists had the chance, over several months, to test two units of the New Avanty 300W, which was one of the first power stations we ever got to test. Although the device seems to disappoint quite a few internet users, based on what we've seen in comments and reviews online, mainly because of its slow recharge time and its very weak power as an air compressor, we were fairly satisfied with this small, very compact and well-designed device.
After tests where we pushed both units to their limits to check their quality and durability, one of the two units took more than it could handle, and its pressure gauge no longer works. Otherwise, both units continue to deliver enough energy to power devices running on 110V (300 watts max) or 5V (USB), continue to function as an air compressor (quite slow though, and a bit noisy, 12 bar max), retain their ability to jump-start a somewhat tired car battery (with the included alligator clips and 400 amps of output), and still work as a flashlight.
Build quality is good, the materials used are of good quality, and the whole unit is well thought out, with the alligator clips storing on the device and the compressor hose fitting alongside the adapter nozzles. Powerful and practical, especially given the price, we consider it a good buy, but don't hesitate to read the negative reviews from various online users to form your own opinion just in case.
Our tester's review: Christophe Delpuech
A versatile device (compressor, jump starter, 110V outlet) that held up fairly well in our multi-month endurance tests, despite slow charging and a rather weak, noisy compressor — overall good value for money.
