Detailed overview
Our team of testers hasn't yet been able to test this power bank as thoroughly as some other portable batteries, but we were nonetheless impressed by the Taurus X6S Pro during our single test session. With physical characteristics close to those of a brick, both in weight and dimensions, it's clear that this power bank's primary purpose isn't to be carried around daily. However, when you need a lot of energy on the go, for example to charge your phone multiple times while traveling, this battery proves incredibly effective.
Although quite large compared to the average power bank, it remains extremely compact for its gigantic 27000mAh capacity. With impeccable finishing, this battery is particularly rugged and solid. The unit we tested withstood several drops and knocks, as well as a full night with its "feet in the water" (in several centimeters of rainwater), and terribly humid conditions. It did its job flawlessly throughout that week of testing.
Its digital display is very handy, giving a precise idea of remaining battery. Why 99.99Wh instead of 100? Simply because regulations impose different rules for electrical devices of 100Wh or more in air travel — so this power bank has the maximum legal capacity to be carried in the cabin, regardless of the airline. On the connectivity side, the Taurus X6S has 4 ports in total: 3 outputs (a standard 5V⎓2.4A USB port, a fast USB port compatible with QC 3.0, and a USB-C port at 5V⎓3A that's both an input and output compatible with QC 3.0), and a second micro-USB input port also compatible with Quick Charge 3.0. This Li-Polymer battery has an operating range of 0°C to +35°C according to the manufacturer and offers numerous protections against overcharging or short-circuits. Supplied with a micro USB cable and an excellent-quality case, it's one of the best choices for anyone looking for maximum capacity at a reasonable price.
Our tester's review: Guillaume Hoarau
A true capacity monster (27000mAh, the legal limit for planes), rugged and moisture-resistant in our tests — perfect for intensive nomadic use despite its considerable weight.
